Elevating a Sagging FloorThe sheer weight of vintage tiles, granite, stone and marble can do a number on what supports it over the years.  In this quick how-to, we'll look at a way to safely straighten out a sagging tile floor by reinforcing the subfloor with the help of a few 2 x 10's.

Quick Tips

Use subfloor adhesive and run a bead where the subfloor lays on the floor joist (glue both sides of the floor joist)...stay off the squeaking area for 4-5 hrs and problem solved.. mineral oil can create more of a problem by lubricating the subfloor. It still moves, you just can't hear it.
